Wine to Bourbon Tasting

Chef Pete' forces me to showcase one of his wild adventures to a local purveyor of distilled spirits. I can't make this up. He has moments of, less than perfect sanity. However, we always enjoy his experience and love to share it with you.

V,
           A submission for: www.Every-Day-Is-A-Banquet.blogspot.com
and our NY / VT / MN friends

Went to Westport Whiskey and Wine (WWW) tonight to catch the end of the Spanish wine tasting....
We ended up sampling some specialty Bourbons w/ Chris Zaborowski, a dear old friend .....

WWW just brought their first barrel to private label. Got a little taste of that w/ bits of charcoal in the bottle. We were quite taken w/ the two above.

Of course, when you are sipping 100 proof straight up, it is easy to be quite taken.
Enjoyed reading the rack description.....

The Old Forester Birthday Bourbon has a new release every Sept. 2nd.
Reminiscent of the French w/ Beaujolais Nouveau (released the third Thursday of November).

Just add Bourbon,
Chef Pete'

Christmas ideas

I can't help but promote this idea. A Christmas gift of something people need. Think of how gifted you are and how you can share that gift with others. I don't need a new shirt but they need something that may improve their life.    Give if you can. Click on the link>>>>>
This is someting you will feel good about.

Hey all,
I wanted to send a little note asking you to read my latest blog update. I hope you can help!

Tailgating in Style

Last weekend we went to Miami to see the Dolphins and Titans clash, with the Dolphins topping the score.
It was a GREAT adventure starting early. I credit Marv Market of our Royal Palm Yacht Club (RPYC) for most of the photos and the descriptive write up. The photos tell you how much folks enjoyed it and what an UPSCALE Tailgate party looks like.   Click on the link and Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a BLAST! My photos are at the end? Wonder why........

On Sunday, Nov.14th, 50 members and guests enjoyed the 6th. RPYC NFL game bus trip to watch the Miami Dolphins and Tenn. Titans. We departed at 0845,with Bloodies & Mimosas, a $500 football pool onboard and (2) 50/50s en route. We returned at 7:30 feeling fine with wine and the thought of raising more money for the Children's hospital.
The weather was perfect, the food and beverages were outstanding and we watched the first Dolphin win...for us! That's right. We had never seen a win on any of our trips. A perfect day. Just check the pictures.

Our staff, Kemorr and Michael, went with us and performed their "magic" with an awesome presentation of Tacos with all the trimmings, beef short ribs in BBQ sauce, beans, slaw and home-made cookies, all served fresh from elegant skirted , white table cloth tables with flowers. We were the talk of the bus tailgate set. A nearby cook even asked Kemorr for a chef's hat.

After the lovely meal, we walked a short distance to the East End Zone, where we had excellent lower level seats. No more "nose bleed", 400-level seats for us!! Everybody agreed, the extra cost was well worth it. But next time will try for the West End Zone...much closer. On the way back we had drawings for some trinkets. Ernie won the balloons!

Time to share food & travel stories

No, this is not a travelogue or a boring slide show of tourist photos. It was  a celebration dinner where the attendees shared with each other visits they had made to Arizona, Chile, and Paris. A festive evening with just a few (sic) bottles of vino. The menu included grilled skirt steak and haricot vert.

Always start with dessert

This might need further discussion!!!!!
